Sara Palin's Kawasaki 704 Frames

Ever since Sara Palin's speech at the RNC last Wednesday night, our store has been the recipient of quite a few requests for the cool looking frames that the candidate has now made infamous. I'm taling about the Kawasaki 704, which looks absolutely stunning on Sara Palin.

USA Today ran a story in print and online called " Palin Has Created Quite A Stir... With Her Designer Glasses".

Last Thursday night, Access Hollywood did a story in their Access Style segment called "Sarah Palin's Political Couture."

We have the Kawasaki 704 that Sarah Palin wears and that so many folks in Tulsa and nationwide have been calling and asking about.

Anyone who is interested in having this frame made up in their prescription need only call us (918-743-6478) or come by our Utica Square location in Tulsa.

Tom Davies Eyewear

We just decided to add the London Based Tom Davies Eyewear collection to our always growing selection of unique couture eyewear. Tom Davies frames are instantly noticeable as being made of the highest quality acetates and titaniums.

I found this little snippit of information over at tdtomdavies.com

Brand Description

Tom Davies designs his frames with three things in mind. Appearance, quality and comfort. His bespoke service, the only one in the world of its kind, focused Tom as a designer on these three important areas. This creates and portrays a unique style for each frame which should be an extension of the person wearing it. Quality comes from intelligent design and the latest manufacturing techniques in Japan. Customers and opticians are always commenting on the quality of Tom’s frames. Tom believes that comfort is of paramount importance in eyewear. Frames should aim to be ultra light, comfortable and sit in the correct position.

The best of British design, a London based eyewear designer, with a superb eye for style and fashion with the typical British understated yet impressive look. Manufactured in highest quality titanium and acetate with obsessive attention to detail. Also able to design bespoke eyewear, truly taking eyewear fashion and design to the highest level.

Brand History

Tom Davies was Chief designer at a major manufacturing group based in Hong Kong. In 2000 he moved to London and set up a product design agency in his own name providing branded design for many leading accessories lables across the world.

In 2002 he launched his spectacle bespoke service and following a spectacular feature in the Financial Times Tom Davies launched a range of spectacles and sunglasses to complete the offer.

Since then Tom Davies has produced bespoke spectacles for some of the richest and most famous people in the world and his collection is offered through opticians and department stores world wide.

Badgley Mishka Couture Eyewear Coming Soon

I was able to look at the new Badgley Mishka collection by Sama Eyewear this morning and I really loved what I saw. We will have the collection in the store soon, so be on the look out for that announcement.

I have posted a little information on designers Mark Badgley and James Mishka that I found on Sama's website for those who are interested. I will let you know as soon as we have the collection in the store. You can see part of the collection on the Sama website as well.

Mark Badgley and James Mishka have been placed by Vogue among the "top 10 American Designers."

“Our style harks back to the glamorous Hollywood of the Forties” say Mark and James, whose designs are simple, streamlined and thoroughly elegant. Badgley Mischka’s timeless designs are favorites of such celebrities as Madonna, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and Ashley Judd.

In 2006, Mark and James joined forces with longtime friend Sheila Vance of Sama Eyewear to create an eyewear collection worthy of the Badgley Mischka name. The result was Badgley Mischka Couture Eyewear, a glamorous collection of ophthalmics and sunglasses for women and men that recalls the “Golden Age of Hollywood” and remains true to Badgley Mischka’s design philosophy. The chic women’s styles are highlighted by the elegant and innovative use of laser cut and cast titanium, exotic feathers, Swarovski crystals and pearls. The stunning men’s styles feature modern interpretations of classic designs and incorporate premium metals and plastics to make a bold fashion statement. Badgley Mischka Couture Eyewear puts the couture back into eyewear.

Maui Jim Collection

Our Maui Jim collection is one of the most comprehensive in the Tulsa area. I am absolutely thrilled with the new fashionable styles that have been added to the Classic collection for women. The new Bamboo style 104 (shown on the top shelf in the middle, click for large view) is for women with oval, round, or oblong face shapes. It comes in both black with silver temple and grey lenses and black with gold temple and HCL bronze lenses. The coolest thing about Maui Jim sunglasses is that all styles come standard with polarized lenses, back side anti-reflective coating, and double-gradient mirror coating on the front. This combination of features truly creates one of the most soothing, pleasurable lenses my eyes have ever experienced.

Announcing the arrival of Infinity by Staffan Preutz

We just received the Infinity collection by Swedish designer Staffan Preutz. These stunningly futuristic looking frames represent a cutting edge look that breaks the barriers of frame design today. The frame front is basically a shield made from a plastic material called NXT that is both super light weight and super flexible. The pure titanium temples are available in several different styles ranging from thick and bold to ultra minimalist. Swarovsky crystals come standard on a few of the styles and are optional on some of the temple designs.

I have to admit the most amazing feature about this collection is the comfort of the design. The first thing I noticed when trying on the various styles was that you hardly feel the frame on your nose or ears at all. It feels as if you are wearing a titanium rimless, but the look is one of stylish color and boldness that is so prevalent in eye wear now.

If you have not seen these I highly recommend visiting the store to try them on today.
